The SSC GD cut off 2025 cycle came down noticeably from the very high marks seen in 2024, according to the final result data and reports on it. A cut off is the lowest normalised CBT score at which candidates of a given state, category and gender were taken to the next stage or selected.
Constable posts are filled separately for each state, so one national SSC GD figure does not exist. You need to look at the row for your own state, your own category and your gender, and at the right stage. This page shows the verified figures we could find, explains each stage, and tells you where the official PDFs sit.

What the SSC GD cut off means
Every stage that shortlists people has its own cut off. For GD constables there are two that matter most:
- CBT cut off: the score at which SSC calls candidates for the Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test. SSC calls several times as many people as it has posts, since plenty of them drop out at the run or at measurement.
- Selection (final) cut off: the score of the last selected candidate in each list, after PET, PST, medical exam and document verification are over.
Physical tests carry no marks. That is why both cut offs are written in CBT marks out of 160, after normalisation and any NCC bonus.
How the commission sets it
The cut off is not fixed in advance. It falls out of the merit list once SSC knows how many posts each state has and how candidates scored.
- Vacancies by state: constable posts are divided among states and union territories, and inside some states among general, border and militancy or Naxal affected districts. Each area gets its own merit list.
- Category and gender: posts are reserved for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and ex servicemen, and male and female posts are counted separately.
- Normalisation: the exam is spread over many days and shifts, so raw marks are converted to normalised marks before any list is made.
- Tie breaking: the result PDFs print Part A and Part B marks next to the total, which are used when two candidates have the same score. Check the notice for the full tie rule.
SSC GD previous year cut off: 2024 final
The table below shows the final cut off for male and female candidates selected against all India vacancies of the Secretariat Security Force (SSF) in the 2024 cycle, as given in the final result reported by more than one source. Figures are normalised marks out of 160, rounded to two decimals.
| Reservation group | Men | Women |
|---|---|---|
| UR | 159.61 | 154.45 |
| OBC | 158.68 | 152.82 |
| EWS | 158.09 | 152.95 |
| SC | 154.15 | 149.28 |
| ST | 151.88 | 143.01 |
| ESM | 124.39 | Not listed |
These were unusually high numbers. A UR man needed almost 160 out of 160, which in practice meant a near perfect paper plus, for many selected candidates, NCC bonus marks.
SSC GD cut off 2025 cycle and the newest CBT round
For the 2025 cycle, SSC advertised 53,690 posts. Reports on the result said 3,94,121 candidates were shortlisted for the physical tests, compared with 3,51,176 in the 2024 cycle. The final result came out in mid January, after the exam year. Reported final cut offs for SSF and NCB all India lists sat mostly between the high 130s and the low 150s depending on category, several marks below the 2024 levels. We have not printed a full 2025 table because the secondary reports we checked did not fully agree on every figure; please read the official PDF for exact values.
In the most recent CBT result, reports said 21,56,776 candidates appeared and 1,97,408 were provisionally shortlisted for PET and PST. The highest state cut off reported was for UR women in Haryana at about 128.42, and UR men in Rajasthan needed about 126.84. Those are CBT stage figures, not final selection figures, so do not compare them directly with the final tables above.
Passing marks are not the selection line
Passing the CBT and being selected are two different things. The commission fixes a floor score for the CBT, and in recent notices these have been 30 percent for UR, 25 percent for OBC and EWS, and 20 percent for other categories. Check the current notice because the commission can change them.
Clearing that floor only puts your name in the race. Whether you move ahead depends on where you stand in your state and category list. Lately the state lines have stood well above that floor, often over 120 at the CBT stage in large states.
Factors likely to shift future SSC GD cut offs
- Posts on offer: the latest notice had fewer posts (25,487) than the previous one, which tends to push the CBT cut off up in many states.
- Number of candidates: over 20 lakh people sit the CBT, and the count per state matters more than the national total.
- How hard the shifts were: a tougher set of shifts pulls normalised scores down for everyone.
- NCC bonus: 5 percent of maximum marks for a C certificate, 3 percent for B and 2 percent for A, as per the latest notice. Many candidates near the top carry these extra marks.
Use past figures only to judge distance from the line. Plan to score clearly above your state's last CBT figure. Our SSC GD syllabus page explains which parts are easiest to push towards full marks.

Frequently asked questions
What was the SSC GD cut off in 2024 for UR males?
For SSF all India vacancies, the final cut off for UR male candidates in the 2024 cycle was about 159.61 out of 160. State wise CAPF cut offs were different, so check the PDF for your state.
Do all states share one SSC GD cut off?
No. Posts are allotted state wise, and some states have separate lists for border and militancy affected areas. Every such list ends at a different score for each category and gender.
Does the PET score count in the SSC GD cut off?
No. PET and PST are qualifying only. The line is drawn on normalised CBT scores, plus NCC bonus for those who claimed and proved it.
What is the minimum qualifying mark in the SSC GD CBT?
Recent notices set 30 percent for UR, 25 percent for OBC and EWS, and 20 percent for other categories. Qualifying does not guarantee a PET call, which depends on your state list.
Why do female cut offs differ from male cut offs?
Female and male posts are counted separately, and the number of applicants and posts differs in each list. In some states the female cut off is higher than the male one, in others lower.
Where can I find the SSC GD final cut off PDF?
On the Result page of the official SSC website, under Constable (GD). The write up released with each result carries the cut off tables.
