The MP patwari syllabus has two parts in one online paper of 200 marks: Part 1 tests general science, Hindi, English and maths, while Part 2 tests general knowledge, computer knowledge, reasoning and general management. MPESB, the state's Employees Selection Board, runs the exam, usually as part of its combined Group 2 Sub Group 4 recruitment.
This guide covers the MP patwari exam pattern, subject wise topics, the CPCT condition that trips up many selected candidates, and a weekly routine that balances the two halves of the paper.

Selection stages for MP patwari
Recent patwari recruitment has run through a single written stage. Patwari selection skips both the interview and any physical measurement.
- Online written exam with prescribed qualifying marks.
- Merit list by category, followed by district preference allotment.
- Document verification and appointment by the Revenue Department.
Because merit alone decides who gets a district, every mark you add in the online test moves you up the list. The number of posts and the categories covered change each time; one recent round, for example, was a special drive for candidates with disabilities.

This is the least familiar heading for most candidates. Read the topics printed in the rule book carefully, since MPESB defines it per recruitment; expect basics of planning, organising, leadership and office procedure.
Where to put your hours
MP specific GK and computer knowledge separate the selected list from the rest, because Hindi and maths scores tend to bunch together. A patwari keeps land records on computers, which is why the board tests computer basics and also asks for CPCT.
For overlapping state topics, the MP police constable syllabus and MP SI syllabus cover the same Madhya Pradesh GK base.
CPCT and the patwari post
Graduation alone is not enough. You need a valid CPCT (Computer Proficiency Certification Test) score card showing computer proficiency and Hindi typing. The latest notice allowed a candidate selected without it to qualify within the probation period, but read the current rule since this has been strict in some cycles. The CPCT syllabus page explains that typing and computer test.
