The DSSSB MTS previous year cut off, from the result for Advertisement 03/2024 (post code 812/24), ran from 161.25 out of 200 for ST candidates up to 183.36 for the unreserved list, which means a general candidate needed well over 90 percent of the marks to reach the e-dossier stage. Only 1,732 of the 69,607 candidates who wrote the test were shortlisted for 579 Multi Tasking Staff posts across Delhi government departments.
That is a very high bar for a class 10 level paper, and it should reshape your preparation. Here you will find the full category table, the minimum qualifying marks, the reasons scores climbed so far, and how to find your own figure in the Board's notice. For the five sections and their topics, read the DSSSB MTS syllabus guide.

What the DSSSB MTS cut off decides
MTS recruitment through the Board has a single written stage, so whatever you score on the computer test is what counts for the job. After the test, DSSSB lists candidates in merit order within each category and invites about three candidates for every post to upload documents in the e-dossier window. In each list, the e-dossier invite with the lowest marks marks the cut off.
Because there is no second tier or interview, two or three marks in the CBT decide everything. Each incorrect option deducts 0.25, so a careless guess can push you below a line that may sit only a fraction of a mark away.
DSSSB MTS previous year cut off by category
| Category | Cut off |
|---|---|
| UR | 183.36 |
| SC | 176.20 |
| EWS | 175.61 |
| OBC (Delhi) | 167.43 |
| ST | 161.25 |
| Sports person | 128.69 |
| Ex-servicemen | 95.25 |
Separate lines were set for each persons with benchmark disability group, and they varied widely, from under 100 to about 170. Reports of the PwBD rows do not all agree, so read those directly from the Board's notice.
Notice that the SC figure was higher than both EWS and OBC (Delhi). Cut offs follow the vacancies reserved for each group and how many strong candidates compete for them, so the usual order of categories does not always hold.
Minimum qualifying marks versus the shortlist line
| Category | Minimum | Out of 200 |
|---|---|---|
| UR and EWS | 40% | 80 |
| OBC (Delhi) | 35% | 70 |
| SC, ST and PwBD | 30% | 60 |
For ex-servicemen the bar is 5 percent lower than their category's, though never under 30 percent. Reaching these figures simply keeps you in the merit ranking. With the last result closing above 160 in every main category, they are far below what you need in practice.
Why the last MTS cut off went so high
- Huge field for few posts. Close to 70,000 candidates appeared for under 600 vacancies, roughly 120 per post.
- Low difficulty, objective format. The paper has five 40 mark sections of school level content: Hindi, English, arithmetic, reasoning and general awareness. Well prepared candidates can approach full marks.
- Many shifts. The CBT ran over many days. Where a test runs in several shifts, the Board's notice explains how scores are made comparable, and decimal cut offs such as 183.36 reflect that adjustment rather than raw counts.
- Graduates applying. The post asks for class 10, but many candidates hold higher degrees, which lifts the top of the list.
Setting a realistic target
If the next result behaves like the last, a UR candidate should plan for 180 or more, and reserved candidates for 160 to 175. Treat that as a working target based on one result, not a forecast.
Accuracy matters as much as attempts. Spread over 120 minutes, 200 items give you close to 36 seconds apiece, so practise skipping anything that would take a minute and coming back to it.
What may change next time
- Vacancy count. More posts in a future advertisement would bring every line down somewhat; fewer would push it higher still.
- Paper difficulty and shift spread. A tougher general awareness section is usually the biggest single factor.
- Reserved post share. The split of vacancies across categories decides which line rises or falls.
Earlier MTS rounds from the Board closed lower, but they had different vacancy numbers and fields, so the latest result is the more useful guide.
How to check the DSSSB MTS cut off officially

- Look for the result notice that names your post code, for example 812/24 for MTS.

No. MTS uses a one-tier CBT followed by document checks and a medical, so your written score decides selection.
Why are the cut off marks in decimals?
The test ran across many shifts, and the Board's method for making shift scores comparable produces decimal figures. The result notice explains the method used for that recruitment.
Can a graduate apply for DSSSB MTS?
Yes. The minimum is class 10 pass, and higher qualifications do not bar you. Check the age limit and other conditions in the advertisement.
