Delhi Police Constable Previous Year Paper: Pattern, Practice and Official Sources

SSC and centralBilingual papersMany shiftsUpdated 26 Oct 2026

A delhi police constable previous year paper is the most honest preview of the CBT you will sit: 100 questions in 90 minutes, with GK and news carrying fifty of those marks. Working through papers from the 2023 and 2025 exams shows you the real level of the reasoning and maths, how current the GK questions are, and how many questions you can finish without rushing into negative marks.

This page explains what the papers contain, a staged way to practise with them, gives five practice items of our own in the exam's format, and shows where SSC itself makes papers and answer keys available. The topic list is on the Delhi Police syllabus page.

The CBT at a glance before you open old papers

CBT structure seen in recent Constable (Executive) exams
PartQuestionsWhat it tests
General Knowledge and Current Affairs50Recent events, history, geography, polity, economy, science
Reasoning25Series, analogies, coding, figures, spatial questions
Numerical Ability15School arithmetic and mensuration
Computer Fundamentals10MS Word, MS Excel, e-mail, internet and browsers

One mark is given per correct answer and 0.25 is cut for a wrong one. Since SSC spreads the test over many sittings on different days, no year has just one paper: each shift has its own set, and SSC normalises scores across them.

What past Delhi Police papers tell you

  • GK is wide and recent. Expect questions on news from the months before the exam, alongside static topics such as freedom struggle, rivers, constitutional articles and basic science. Going through several shifts shows how often current events appear compared with static facts.
  • Reasoning leans on visual questions. Figure series, mirror images, paper folding and counting figures appear next to number series and coding.
  • Maths is short but needs care. The 15 questions are arithmetic at a class 10 level, so errors usually come from rushing rather than not knowing a method.
  • Computer questions are factual. Shortcut keys, Excel functions, file extensions and e-mail terms come up repeatedly.
Patterns across shifts are a guide, not a promise. Topic mixes vary between shifts and cycles, so keep covering the full official syllabus.

Practise in three rounds

  1. Round one, untimed by section: solve the reasoning and maths parts of three or four old shifts without a clock. Note which question types slow you down.
  2. Round two, GK audit: go through the 50 GK questions of several shifts and mark each as known, guessable or unknown. The unknown list becomes your reading list for the week.
  3. Round three, full timing: sit complete papers in 90 minutes, on a screen if possible, and score them with the 0.25 penalty. Aim to finish computer and reasoning in under 35 minutes so GK gets enough time.
Neha attempted all 100 questions in her first two timed papers and lost almost eight marks to negative marking. In the third she skipped the GK questions she had no clue about, attempted 88, and her net score went up by six marks with the same knowledge.

Sample questions in the same style

These are written for this page to show the format; they are not taken from any SSC paper.

Where to get a delhi police constable previous year paper officially

The Staff Selection Commission is the only official source. Once the CBT is over, a notice announces the tentative keys, and with your registration details you may open their own question paper and response sheet for a limited window. In many exams SSC later places final answer keys along with question papers in the answer key section of ssc.gov.in.

  • Download your response sheet when the window opens; it closes after a few days.
  • Save the final answer key PDF, which shows the questions with the correct options, for later practice.
  • Delhi Police shares recruitment updates on its own website, but every exam paper and key comes from SSC.

Be careful with papers labelled memory based: they are reconstructed by people after the exam and can contain errors.

In Hindi: the Delhi police previous year question paper

Every Constable CBT is set in English and Hindi, so each official paper already contains the Hindi version of every question. If you prefer Hindi, practise in Hindi from the start; switching languages in the last month slows you down on GK terms.

Pair papers with the cut off

Scoring an old paper only means something if you compare it with the line you have to cross. Recent open male UR shortlists have been around 70 and women's around 63, as the cut off tables show. If your net score in timed papers is still 10 marks short, go back to the GK audit rather than taking more full papers. Physical and age rules are on the eligibility page, and for a related constable level test, try the GD papers guide.

Frequently asked questions

Are SSC Delhi Police Constable previous year papers available officially?

SSC publishes answer key notices after each CBT and lets candidates see their own question paper and responses for a short period. Final answer keys with questions are often posted later in the answer key section of the SSC website.

How many past shifts are enough to practise?

Ten to fifteen shifts is a sensible number if you analyse each one properly. Solving more without reviewing your mistakes adds little.

Is there a separate delhi police constable previous year paper in Hindi?

No separate paper is needed. The official question paper is bilingual, so the Hindi text sits alongside the English text of each question.

Do GK questions repeat in later exams?

Word for word repeats hardly happen, yet familiar areas return: constitutional articles, important rivers and dams, awards, sports and basic science. Current affairs questions change every cycle.

Should I practise on paper or on a screen?

Use a screen for your timed rounds, because the real test is computer based and reading figures on a monitor feels different. Untimed topic practice can be done on paper.

Are papers of the Head Constable exam useful too?

Partly. They help with GK and reasoning practice, but the Head Constable papers follow a different scheme, so keep the Constable papers as your main set.
