The AIIMS Delhi cut off for MBBS is a NEET All India Rank, not a mark: in the 2025 counselling the last unreserved seat went at rank 48, and in 2024 at rank 47. AIIMS New Delhi has been the first choice of the very top rankers every year since admission moved to NEET.
So the realistic question is not "how many marks for AIIMS Delhi" but "will my rank fall inside the closing rank for my category". The tables below give those closing ranks, followed by what they mean in practice.

Why the AIIMS Delhi cut off is a rank
AIIMS stopped holding its own MBBS entrance after its last separate test, and since then every seat at AIIMS New Delhi is filled from NEET UG. The National Testing Agency conducts NEET, while the Medical Counselling Committee runs counselling for AIIMS seats along with the all India quota of other government colleges.
During counselling you lock choices, and seats are allotted in rank order. Whoever is admitted last within a category fixes that category's closing rank. Since nearly every top ranker places AIIMS New Delhi first, its seats fill within the first few dozen ranks for the open category.
First, though, everyone has to cross the NEET qualifying percentile for your category; that is explained on the NEET cut off page. For AIIMS Delhi, that qualifying line is irrelevant in practice because the closing ranks are far higher.
AIIMS Delhi MBBS closing ranks, 2025 and 2024
| Category | 2025 (last round) | 2024 (round 1) |
|---|---|---|
| Open | 48 | 47 |
| OBC (non creamy layer) | 206 to 207 | 186 |
| EWS | 254 | 214 |
| SC | 644 | 647 |
| ST | 1,405 | 1,150 |
Reports for 2025 differ by one rank for OBC, so it is shown as a range. In the 2025 first round, the top 48 candidates on the merit list took the open seats here, and the later rounds barely moved that figure. PwD closing ranks swing wildly from year to year because only a handful of such seats exist, so they are not shown.
The 2023 picture
| Category | Closing rank |
|---|---|
| Open | 55 to 57 (reports differ) |
| OBC | 255 |
| EWS | 223 in round 1, 258 by round 3 |
| SC | 989 |
| ST | 1,624 |
Put the three years side by side and a pattern appears. The open line stays below 60 every time, while reserved lines move more, especially for ST, where 1,624 in 2023 tightened to 1,150 in 2024 before loosening to 1,405 in 2025.
What marks those ranks meant
The same rank can mean very different marks depending on how hard the NEET paper was. In 2024, when scores were bunched near the top, a rank inside 50 needed a score above 700 out of 720. In 2025, with a tougher paper, the corresponding scores were much lower. That is why you should plan around rank, and check the score to rank relation only after NTA publishes the result.
What will shape the next AIIMS Delhi closing rank
- Seats: the institute offers about 132 MBBS seats, and the category split (open, EWS, OBC, SC, ST) is fixed by reservation rules. If seats rise, every line moves a little further down the rank list.
- Preference of toppers: almost all top 50 rankers choose AIIMS New Delhi, so the open line barely changes.
- Reserved candidates on merit: reserved category students with very high ranks often take open seats, which pushes the reserved lines further down.
- Rounds and upgrades: students rarely leave AIIMS Delhi once allotted, so the round 1 line is usually close to the final one.
Checking the closing ranks yourself
- Go to the Medical Counselling Committee website, mcc.nic.in, and open the UG medical section.
- Pick the year, then save the round wise allotment PDFs one by one.
- Filter the list for All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, and note the highest rank allotted in each category.
- Compare round 1 with the final round to see how much the line moved.
For admissions that AIIMS runs itself, such as INI-CET and nursing, notices appear on the AIIMS examinations portal, aiimsexams.ac.in. MBBS allotment, though, is always on the MCC site.
Other AIIMS Delhi courses
Not every AIIMS Delhi admission goes through NEET UG. Postgraduate medical seats (MD, MS, MDS and super speciality) are filled through INI-CET, with its own percentile based qualifying rules set in each prospectus. B.Sc nursing and paramedical courses have separate AIIMS entrance tests; the nursing entrance topics explain that route, and more medical and other tests sit on the entrance exams hub. For a comparison with the other AIIMS campuses, see the AIIMS cut off page.
