BAMS Cut Off for Government Colleges Through NEET

EntranceNEET UG routeAyurveda degreeUpdated 26 Oct 2026

The BAMS cut off for government colleges is the last NEET UG rank admitted to a government Ayurveda college in a given category and round, not a fixed score. In the 2025 all India quota counselling, general category closing ranks at well known government colleges ranged from roughly 32,700 to about 48,000.

So a rank somewhere inside the top 50,000 has usually been the zone for a government BAMS seat through the all India route, while state quota seats follow their own lists. This page explains which body fills which seats, gives reported closing ranks for two cycles, and shows how to read the official allotment PDFs yourself.

Two kinds of cut off for a BAMS seat

Every BAMS aspirant meets two different thresholds, and mixing them up leads to poor choices in counselling.

  • The NEET qualifying percentile. NTA declares it with the result: the 50th percentile for UR and EWS, the 45th for UR or EWS candidates with a disability, and the 40th in the OBC, SC and ST lists. Crossing it simply lets you register for counselling.
  • The closing rank of a college. This is the true BAMS cut off for government colleges. It is the all India rank of whoever took the final seat in that college, quota and category, and it is known only after each round ends.

For the qualifying marks in each year, see the NEET cut off page. This page is about the second number, the one that decides whether a government seat is realistic.

Who fills government Ayurveda seats

The Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee, known as AACCC, runs central counselling for undergraduate Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy seats. According to its own website, it handles:

  • 15 percent all India quota seats in government and government aided colleges across states and union territories
  • 100 percent of seats in central universities and national institutes, leaving out any state, institutional or nominated seats
  • 100 percent of seats in deemed universities set up under a central Act

The remaining 85 percent of seats in state government colleges go through the state's own counselling, usually for residents of that state. Closing ranks there often sit far lower than in the all India list, because you compete only with candidates from one state. If you are from a large state with many government colleges, register for both routes.

In 2024 the spread was wider, with some government colleges still admitting general candidates near rank 69,000. In 2025 most of the same colleges closed earlier. The same reported list showed SC closing ranks between roughly 1.36 lakh and 2.8 lakh and ST ranks beyond 2 lakh at several colleges, which shows how strongly category changes the picture.

These ranks come from published compilations of AACCC allotments. The round is not always stated and figures move between rounds, so always confirm in the round wise allotment PDFs on aaccc.gov.in before you fill choices.

Why ranks matter more than marks

Students often ask for a single score that guarantees a government BAMS seat. There is no such number, because the marks that produce a given rank change every year with the difficulty of NEET. In 2025 the general qualifying score fell to 144 out of 720, while in the latest re-NEET it rose to 213. A rank of 40,000 can therefore sit on very different marks in different years.

Plan with ranks. Once your NEET result is out, compare your all India rank and category rank with the closing ranks of the colleges you like for the last two cycles.

Sneha, an OBC candidate from Rajasthan, had an all India rank close to 58,000. That was outside the general closing ranks for the Jaipur and Udaipur colleges in the all India list, but her OBC position and Rajasthan domicile kept the state quota open. She registered with AACCC for central and deemed seats and with the state authority for the 85 percent seats, and filled state government colleges at the top of her choices.

What will shift BAMS government cut offs next time

  • NEET difficulty and the number of candidates. A larger field pushes the same score to a worse rank.
  • MBBS and BDS movement. Many high rankers take BAMS seats in early rounds and leave when an MBBS seat comes through, so later rounds often go deeper into the rank list.
  • New seats and colleges. Fresh approvals or withdrawn permissions change the seat count from year to year.
  • Round number. Round 1 closing ranks are tighter than the stray vacancy round, so compare round with round.
  • Fee and location. Lower fee government colleges in large cities fill first.

Checking allotments on the official site

  1. Visit aaccc.gov.in, then its UG section.
  2. Download the provisional or final allotment result for each round.
  3. Filter the list by course (BAMS), institute and allotted category to find the last rank admitted.
  4. For state quota seats, visit your state Ayush or medical counselling authority's site, which posts its own lists.

To check whether you can sit NEET at all, read NEET eligibility. For the medical side of the same exam, compare with the NEET MBBS government college cut off, and see every entrance exam in the entrance exams hub.

Frequently asked questions

What NEET rank is needed for BAMS in a government college?

In the 2025 all India quota, general category closing ranks at many government Ayurveda colleges fell between about 32,700 and 48,000. Under state quota a larger all India rank can still win a seat, since you compete only within your state, so check your state's lists too.

Is there a fixed BAMS cut off score?

No. Seats are allotted by rank in counselling. The only fixed rule is the NEET qualifying percentile, and the marks behind any rank change with the difficulty of each year's paper.

Who conducts BAMS counselling for government colleges?

AACCC fills the 15 percent all India quota seats of government and aided colleges plus all seats of central universities, national institutes and central deemed universities. State counselling authorities fill the rest of the state government seats.

Can I get a government BAMS seat with a reserved category rank above 1 lakh?

Often yes in SC and ST lists, where reported closing ranks in 2024 ran from about 1.36 lakh to over 2 lakh at several colleges. OBC and EWS lines are much closer to the general ones, so verify the exact figure for each college.

Do I need separate registration for BAMS counselling?

Yes. AACCC counselling is separate from MCC counselling for MBBS, and state Ayush counselling is separate again. Register for every route you want to use within its own dates.

Are 2025 closing ranks a safe guide for my year?

Use them as a reference, not a promise. Seat counts, NEET difficulty and MBBS movement change every cycle, so compare at least two years and the same counselling round.
